Tiger Woods - AP Athlete of the Decade

Tiger Woods has been voted AP Athlete of the Decade on Wednesday. As the Award implies, the vote was based on Woods performance on the golf course rather than on his self-described transgressions. In an article explaining the selection, the AP wrote:

“His 10 years of incomparable golf [outweigh] nearly three weeks of a salacious sex scandal.”

Laudable as the award may be, however, it might be unimportant this time for a man who is trying to win his wife's trust back. Tiger Woods is on the verge of absolutely losing his family as his wife Swedish model Elin Nordegren reportedly hired a divorce lawyer.

Here's Tiger Woods updates: After the mistresses sex scandal were uncovered, Tiger Woods was reported ready to quit golf in desperate move to save his family and shattered marriage with wife Elin. Woods had told his wife that he will do anything to win her back. Elin had agreed to stay with Woods for the sake of their children but on her terms. A friend said:

"She was close to walking out for good. She decided to stay for the kids' sake - but on her terms.

"They have agreed to try and rebuild their marriage, but Elin will be the one calling the shots. It will be a long time before he's travelling the globe playing golf unless Elin's by his side.

"Tiger will have to work long and hard to get her to trust him again. Quitting golf shows he is willing to sacrifice something he loves so much to protect his family."

It was understood Elin has refused to let Woods tour until he regained her trust - or until daughter Sam, two, and ten-month-old son Charlie were old enough to tag along with them.

I guess it's not yet too late to mend what could still be mended. It's up for Woods to do the next step. His wife had already given him a go signal to patch things up. He should not waste that chance.
