Philippine Elections 2010 - 12 Senators proclaimed

For Philippine Elections 2010, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) as of May 18, 2010 has already proclaimed all 12 senators even if canvassing of votes has yet to finish. According to COMELEC Chairman Jose Melo:

“The remaining votes that have not yet been received by the canvassing and and consolidation system of the National Board of Canvassers will not materially affect the votes obtained by the tenth up to the twelfth ranking winning candidates for Senator.”

Philippine National Elections - 2010 Automated Presidential Election

The Philippine National Election or the 2010 Automated Presidential Elections was held yesterday, May 10th. Since it is the first time for the Philippines to have the elections automated, a lot of technical problems had occurred. In general, there's the defective PCOS machines, some over-sized ballots, the long lines of voters, among others. But then, the elections were done and vote results were almost up to 100%.

I was almost unable to cast my vote at the polling center yesterday due to heavy rain. But then, I just have to go and be a part of the historic event wherein I have to vote in the country's first-ever automated elections.

Unlike in any other polling places where there were incidences of violence, ours had been very peaceful. Despite the heavy rain which poured the entire day, everything went on smoothly. Thanks to the very cooperative people who waited patiently for their turns.

Here are some pictures I took from the polling place during the 2010 Automated Presidential Election. I was not able to take pictures inside the voting precinct especially when I was putting my ballot in the PCOS machine for registration and validation because the BEIs won't allow.
