In the Donaire vs Concepcion fight for the WBA interim super flyweight crown at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on August 16, 2009, Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire, the IBF flyweight champion, defeated Rafael "El Torito" Concepcion in a unanimous decision victory. The three judges scored the bout 117-111, 115-113 and 116-112 for Donaire. With the win, Donaire (22-1, 14 KOs) becomes a two-division champion.
Donaire has a very good strategy here. He knows he could not knock-out Concepcion with his powerful punches so he defeated Concepcion through the scorecard.
