Adam Goldstein, well-known as DJ AM was found dead at about 5:20 pm by paramedics Friday August 28 at his apartment in Manhattan, which some law enforcement officials said had drug paraphernalia in it. According to an official, there was no evidence of foul play. Although DJ AM admitted he had past addictions to crack cocaine, Ecstasy and other drugs, he claimed he had been drug-free for years.

It was reported that DJ AM had previously survived a deadly South Carolina plane crash with rock musician Travis Barker.

Adam Goldstein had been famous also for his past relationships with Nicole Richie, daughter of Lionel Richie and singer-actress Mandy Moore.
