Michael Jackson s funeral

The media is taking chances for a coverage of michael jackson s funeral. Sometimes I can't stop thinking that media intervention on the lives of the public or even private people is really disappointing and disgusting. Because of their "abnormal" desires to have scoop on stories, they always forget to respect the person's right to privacy. They don't care what would have become of the person after the exposure. All they care about is the money they could get out of the misery of others. I really hate the media. They are poisoning the sane minds of the public. They may not accept it, but it's just how they show it. They love to see people suffer and take a downfall in their careers just like what they did to Michael Jackson. Michael is acquitted by the jury because he was really innocent eversince, but the public had already viewed Michael as evil, as child molester because this is what the media had implied. Although not all media people are bad, mostly are. Please people, be vigilant in your judgments.

Heal The World

Heal the World is one of my most favorite songs of Michael Jackson. It's really a heart-warming song that I can't help but cry every time I hear this. I will never ever forget Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson

I was checking the Internet and it struck me so shockingly that my idol had died. It's really hard to accept that Michael Jackson is now gone. It seemed it was just yesterday that I was a kid watching him on TV performing in some of his music videos. Every day that the Lord has made, I did not missed a day watching him on TV whenever I have the opportunity. His songs touches my heart like no other. I could feel his passion for music, what he wanted to express or say, he did it through singing. His contribution to the world of music is so great and he has been an inspiration to many song artists of all races.

Despite of all the controversies, he is still the best and the King of Pop Music. Forever, he and his music will live, not only in mine but also in the hearts of the many people around the world.

To Michael, may you rest in peace in the loving arms of God. I love you very very much.

Michael Jackson died

Michael Jackson who had been scheduled next month to begin the first of 50 sold-out concerts at London's O2 Arena died on Thursday of heart attack. Reports said that Jackson was rushed to UCLA Medical Center by paramedics responding to a call from his home at about 12:30 p.m.

The singer passed away Thursday afternoon at UCLA Medical Center. “The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency at 12:21 PM to the 100 block of Carolwood Drive,” Capt. Steve Rudha told RadarOnline.com. “We dispatched two paramedics and four firefighters who responded to the scene and treated the patient to the best of our abilities and transported the patient to UCLA.”

It's a regret he would not be able to perform for his fans ever again.

Love or Money?

Love or Money
For me, why choose love over money or money over love if I can have them both. It's just a matter of deciding which one should come first. Considering the present economic situation, I say money is my first priority.

Why money?
I can have the things I'll want if I have lots of money. I can buy any clothes, watch movies to my heart's content, eat all the food I want, give more to charity and so much more. With money, I can make my love ones materially happy. When I'll get sick, I'll be confined in a first class private hospital attended to by competent medical professionals. If I don't have money, I will be snubbed by nurses and doctors will tell them they are not available. If I have money, I can hire the best assistants who will tend to all my needs and housekeepers to keep my house clean and in order. With money, I have the command.

But of course, I cannot do anything without love. Be it love for a parent, a brother or a sister, nephews and nieces or even a boyfriend. Love is what motivates me to strive more, to live and move on in life. Love is the reason why I am here in this world. Because of love, my parents have sacrificed and strived hard to make me a better person. Love shields me from greediness and frees me from evil and worldly desires. LOVE IS GOD AND HE CONQUERS ALL

vascular cancer

Colby Curtin, a 10-year-old girl in California who had been suffering from terminal vascular cancer, had her dying wish to see the new Pixar movie 'Up' fulfilled.

What is a vascular cancer or vascular disease?
Peripheral vascular disease refers to a disease that affects the circulatory system outside of the brain and heart. This is the most common disease of the arteries. Vascular disease is caused when fatty material is built up within the arteries. It mixes with other material and then hardens. This blocks the artery and weakens its walls. The result is that blood flow will be restricted or sometimes totally blocked. Peripheral vascular disease can also be caused by blood clots, diabetes, infections or structural defects. Like other cancers, smoking is a risk factor that can increase the chance of developing this cancer.

keishla villafane rivera

The world has really gone mad that even beauty queens were behaving unusually odd. Keishla Villafane Rivera, the Miss Puerto Rico Petite pageant queen was stripped of her crown last Friday for "intolerable conduct" that included threatening and assaulting of the pageant staff.

What was she thinking? Maybe its her way of saying, "I don't want the crown anymore."

Barbara Boxer

Here's what Barbara Boxer had been telling:

"'You know, do me a favor,' a piqued Boxer said. 'Could say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am?''

"'Yes, ma'am,' Walsh interjected.

"'It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, yes, thank you,' she said.

"'Yes, senator,' he responded.

Nothing is wrong with being addressed as "ma'am" as long as the way it is being said shows respect towards the person being addressed and Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh meant no disrespect towards the senator. Sen. Barbara Boxer is just so particular about what she had gone through to get her title. So much ego there is. So what if you're a senator?

Paul Erdos

Paul Erdos was a Hungarian born mathematician famous for his brilliantly elegant proofs of seemingly unsolvable mathematical problems, especially in the area of numbers theory. He founded the field of discrete mathematics, the foundation of computer science, and was one of the most prolific mathematicians in history.

So thoroughly did Erdos devote himself to mathematics that he never married, acquired no property beyond a change of clothes ("Property is a nuisance."), and he refused to stay tied down to a job because it would limit his ability to focus on mathematical problems and to collaborate with distant colleagues. Instead he traveled from one place to another, living out of a half-empty suitcase, staying with fellow mathematicians and sharing ideas from one place to the next. Whatever money he acquired was soon given away, sometimes to charities but often as prizes to those who solved the difficult mathematical problems he set them (though many preferred to frame, rather than spend, their winnings).

He died of heart failure on September 20, 1996 while working on yet another mathematical problem.

kristinia debarge

Here's the lyrics to the new Kristinia Debarge newest single "Goodbye" and listen to the video. I really like the song. It makes me wanna sing along with her.

Am I supposed to put my life on hold
because you don't know how to act
and you don't know where your life is going
Am I supposed to be torn apart, broken hearted, in a corner crying?
Pardon me if I don't show it
I don't care if I never see you again
I'll be alright
Take this final piece of advice and get yourself together,
but either way baby, I'm gone

chorus:
I'm so over it, I've been there and back
Changed all my numbers and just in case you're wondering
I got that new
I'm a single girl swag
Got me with my girls and we're singin' it...... Sing!
na na na na hey, na na na na hey
hey hey hey
goodbye
na na na na hey, na na na na hey,
hey hey hey
goodbye

Cut my hair 'cuz it reminded me of you
I know you like the long 'do,
had to switch my attitude up
Thinkin' of changing up how I ride, No more
on the passenger side
too bad you miss out on the way that I drive it
I don't care if I never see you again
I'll be alright
Take this final piece of advice and get yourself together,
but either way baby, I'm gone

Chorus:
I'm so over it, I've been there and back
Changed all my numbers and just in case you're wondering
I got that new
I'm a single girl swag
Got me with my girls and we're singin' it...sing!
na na na na hey, na na na na hey,
hey hey hey
goodbye
na na na na hey, na na na na hey,
hey hey hey
goodbye

hey hey, hey hey hey
goodbye

Chorus:
I'm so over it, I've been there and back
Changed all my numbers and just in case you're wondering
I got that new
I'm a single girl swag
Got me with my girls and we're singin' it.... sing!
na na na na hey, na na na na hey,

don t call me liz

Here's a comeback of the bad old days of don t call me liz. The story goes this way:

The episode began when the McBee aide, addressing Becton by her full name, tried to set up a meeting between McDermott and visiting brass from JPMorgan Chase, new owners of Washington Mutual.

He checked back some days later, and committed the unpardonable offense of beginning the e-mail with the words "Hi Liz."

"Who is Liz?" Becton replied.

The assistant apologized for the first time. But Becton shot back, "Where did you get your information?"

Becton is right to feel the way she did. It's not really ethical to address people by nicknames especially when you're dealing business with them. But I guess she had been hard also on the aide who had apologized many times. I think the aide had already learned his lesson.

snollygoster

A snollygoster is a shrewd person not guided by principles, especially a politician.
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, which said this unscrupulous character might well be a politician “guided by personal advantage rather than by consistent, respectable principles”. Politicians everywhere will be wounded by the knowledge that one suggested origin was snallygaster, a mythical beast that reputedly preys on poultry and children.

north korea missile hawaii

The surprise bombing attack of the Pearl Harbor in Hawaii by the Japanese Imperial forces had caused hundreds of casualties which eventually led to the military involvement of the United States in World War II.

With the North Korea Missile aimed at Hawaii, the world is on the brink of another world war if North Korea will continue to launch its most advanced ballistic missile towards the US islands. The US is now fortifying Hawaii's defenses against North Korean arms.

I Survived A Japanese Game Show season 2 episode 1 premiere. Check this out, this is a wacky show!

Secured Loans

A secured loan is a loan in which the borrower pledges some asset (e.g. car or a property) as collateral for the loan. It then becomes a secured debt owed to the creditor who gives the loan. In the event that the borrower defaults or fails to pay the debt, the creditor takes possession of the asset used as collateral and may sell it to satisfy the debt by regaining the amount originally lent to the borrower.

Secured loans are easier to obtain than an unsecured loan (the opposite of secured loan), because the secured loan lender has the added benefit of security which provides protection in the event of a customer's inability to repay the secured loans amount. This also means that individuals who are self-employed, have a new job, or who have very bad credit can still take out a secured loan. They are useful as well for bigger amounts of money or where the customer requires a longer repayment period in which to repay the loan.

There at least two types of secured loans: the mortgage loans and nonrecourse loans. A mortgage loan is one in which the collateral used is a property such as a house/home. On the other hand, a nonrecourse loan is a loan where the collateral is the only security or claim the creditor has against the borrower, and the creditor has no further recourse against the borrower for any deficiency remaining after foreclosure against the property. Foreclosure is a legal process in which mortgaged property is sold to pay the debt of the defaulting borrower.

A secured loan is a very easy way to pay off all of your existing debts. Instead of struggling with different payments to different lenders, you can combine all your debts into one simple, affordable monthly repayment through debts consolidation.

So even if you have severe credit problems or have considered yourself "black listed", there are credit companies which can still help you at some very competitive rates. Self-employed? No problem, because they still offer secured loans to those who work for themselves. Interested? Then visit www.securedloans.com now.

underwater hotel

It's just amazing how the human mind have gigantically evolved to think of designing and eventually build an underwater hotel. It might have cost millions of euros just to satisfy one's passion.

Well, it might not be good enough because probably it could only be for the satisfaction and enjoyment of the few rich and famous people of the world.

This hydropoli underwater hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is scheduled to be open this 2009.

trooper stops ambulance

Here's a Full, Un-edited Dash Cam Video of Oklahoma State Trooper vs. EMT from youtube entitled trooper stops ambulance.

I think the trooper was so arrogant. Maybe he wanted to show off that he is the law here. He might have been right in stopping the ambulance, but the attitude and hostility shown was excessive in every way. As he was a law enforcer, he should be calm enough to explain to the team their violations or whatsoever. He's such a "boss".

As to the ambulance unit in charge, the man was right on intervening because he is the one directly responsible for his driver's actions.

Lily Tomlin

Lily TomlinLily Tomlin is one of the best-loved women in America. She's an all-American natural born in Detroit. In her over 40-year career, she has won two Tonys, two Peabodys, six Emmys, a Grammy, the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle.

I personally admire her stand on animal welfare especially concerning the elephants. In her speech, Lily Tomlin speaks out:
She said "Elephants were never meant to live in confinement of small urban zoos, where they are suffering terribly every day. That's why I'm urging everyone to get involved in the first International Day of Action for Elephants in Zoos on June 20th and help bring about the mammoth changes that elephants so desperately need. I don't think anyone in their right mind would think a zoo display provides enough space for these giants of the earth. But if the public is informed, they will raise an outcry and demand change. It's time to stop the destructive practice of keeping elephants in zoos.
And I say, PERSECUTE ANIMAL ABUSERS! To think that man is an animal, why can't he be gentle to his lower kins.

red yeast rice

Red yeast rice, sometimes called red fermented rice, red kojic rice, red koji rice, or ang-kak, is a bright reddish purple fermented rice. It acquires its colour from being cultivated with the yeast Monascus purpureus.

Red yeast rice is sold in jars in Asian markets as a pasteurized wet aggregate, whole dried grains, or as a ground powder. It was a commonly used red food coloring in East Asian and Chinese cuisine prior to the discovery of chemical food coloring. It has also been used in Chinese herbal medicine.

A new study revives a running controversy about its purported cholesterol-lowering effects on the body. In the United States and Europe, red yeast rice has been proposed as an alternative cholesterol-lowering treatment for people who cannot take statins because of severe side effects, mainly muscle wasting and weakness.

But, even though it is seen as an alternative, it has also some complications and potential risks.

megan fox leaked photos

Hollywood actress Megan Fox had decided not to sue the person who leaked her topless shots to the tabloids.

She said that a second glance made her realise the shots weren't quite what they seemed. "I had booby stickers on. They make these silicone stickers that go on over your nipple. If I'd been actually topless, I would have sued someone... I know who, and I never did anything about it. It's her karma to deal with, not mine," she added.

Alice Waters or Alice Louise Waters is an American chef and co-owner of Chez Panisse, the original California cuisine restaurant in Berkeley, California as well as the informal Café Fanny in West Berkeley. A champion of locally-grown and fresh ingredients, she has been credited with creating and developing California Cuisine and has written or co-written several books on the subject, including the influential Chez Panisse Cooking. Alice Waters is a leading advocate of a multi-billion dollar stimulus package that works to give every child in the public school system free breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.

NO TO CON-ASS

President Gloria-Macapagal Arroyo had proclaimed before that she will not run for presidency for the 2010 national elections.

But recently, statements from almost all of the 2010 presidentiables insinuating that they will file charges against President Arroyo for all her alleged corruption in the government had made the incumbent president to change her mind.

The President might not have directly pushed through the issue on charter change but whatever it is, people do not want her to extend her office. Why would she extend and ask the people for another term when she didn't do much to raise the standard of living of the poor Filipino people.

Swine Flu Virus

This is a follow-up to what I have written days ago about the formerly called Swine Flu Virus or Influenza A (H1N1) virus. Most countries around the world are in some panic due to the health threats that this swine flu virus strain is causing.

Check out the following articles:

So, please, people, DON'T TAKE ANY VACCINES OFFERED. THEY COULD KILL YOU BEFORE ANY VIRUS KILLS YOU.

In October 2005 the Pentagon ordered vaccination of all US military personnel worldwide against what it called Avian Flu, H5N1. Scare stories filled world media. Then, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced he had budgeted more than $1 billion to stockpile the vaccine, Oseltamivir sold under the name, Tamiflu. President Bush called on Congress to appropriate another $2 billion for Tamiflu stocks.

Tamiflu is no mild candy to be taken lightly. It has heavy side effects. It contains matter that could have potentially deadly consequences for a person's breathing and often reportedly leads to nausea, dizziness and other flu-like symptoms.

Since the outbreak of Swine Flu Panic (not Swine Flu but Swine Flu Panic) sales of Tamiflu as well as any and every possible drug marketed as flu related have exploded. Wall Street firms have rushed to issue 'buy' recommendations for the company. 'Gimme me a shot Doc, I don't care what it isÉI don' wanna dieÉ'

The press reports are invariably biased. They will quote 152 or 159 deaths from the H1N1 virus, when in fact only seven of these deaths are associated with the A/H1N1 swine flue strain, according to the Minister of Health. The other deaths may be associated with cases of ordinary flu and/or related conditions, but it seems that the reports rarely make the distinction. Moreover, no details were given as to the lab results pertaining to these seven cases.

Swine flu panic is spreading in Mexico and soldiers are patrolling the streets after it was confirmed that human to human transmission is occurring and that the virus is a brand new strain which is seemingly affecting young, healthy people the worst. Questions about the source of the outbreak are also being asked after a public health official said that the virus was “cultured in a laboratory”.

Scientists said the virus combines genetic material from pigs, birds and humans in a way researchers have not seen before. Amazing! Suddenly a deadly virus combining DNA from three different species appears from nowhere! Or really nowhere? Or perhaps from a U.S. biowarfare lab?

Carrie Prejean Playboy

Carrie PrejeanCarrie Prejean has been stripped of her Miss California USA 2009 title due to breach of contract. According to the statement of the pageant's Executive Director, Keith Lewis, the controversial beauty queen was kicked from her post due to "contract violations including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization."
Prejean, who insists she has been consistently cooperative, calls this whole firing thing "a political debate," saying "They don't agree with the stance that I took on gay marriage. Shanna Moakler is trying to bash me. They don't like me. From Day One they wanted me out, and they got what they wanted."
I think that's what somebody gets when they don't go with the flow.

david carradine death pictures

Pictures of David Carradine's death as he was hanging in the closet has been leaked out and published in a Thai tabloid newspaper. The family of Carradine was furious of the release of the photos. David's brother Keith Carradine added that he will legally go after any publication if the photos are run in the United States.

Thai police say the picture is probably a leaked forensics photo.  The death photo was published in Thai Rath, a Thailand tabloid newspaper.

It's righteous for the family to be outraged of the release of the photos of David as he was hanging dead. It's so uncivilized for people to make mockery of the state of death of other people.

butyric acid

Killing is a mortal sin as inscribed in the Old Testament's "The Ten Commandments". But it is also considerably monstrous to deny a fetus his right to life. Abortion is totally not the answer to to the issue of overpopulation, unwanted pregnancies, etcetera. To some, it might be a temporary solution but it is immoral.

whale wars

Praise Capt. Paul Watson for his war against whaling in the second season of the Animal Planet series, Whale Wars," which debuts tonight at 9 p.m.

This year it'll be different because Watson's 2008-09 campaign against whalers in the Antarctic included numerous confrontations -- including three collisions and a very dramatic pursuit through ice -- with Japanese crews that regard Sea Shepherd as a terrorist group.

"They were very aggressive toward us -- the most aggressive I've ever seen them -- so it's a far more dramatic season for that reason," Watson said in an interview this week.

Sea Shepherd's tactics are to disrupt the months-long hunt and any efforts by whalers to transfer harpooned whales onto the processing ship.

The hunt for whales might long be a part of the Japanese culture but Capt. Watson's campaign against whale hunting is honorable. His defend of the wildlife is very courageous and impressive.

MANAGING THE GROWING KIDS: The Philippine Setting

There were times when I happen to see kids in their younger years that I can’t help but reminisced the days when I was at their ages. I could recall how I had grown keeping in me the values and advices my parents had taught me and how I had also many times took for granted their teachings. But in the end, I am very much thankful to them for what I have now become.

Certainly, managing the growing kids especially in the Philippine setting is quite hard and challenging. I’d like to present some comparisons based on my own points of view on how kids of the past and the kids of today are and are behaving based on what I have experienced and on what I have witnessed.

I started one year preschool when I was six and eventually entered elementary grade one at seven. Today, most children begin nursery school at the age of four, preschool kinder I at age five and kinder II at age six, then at seven entered the elementary level. There are others who are much earlier and are advanced in their learning. I had spent much of my preschool days with my parents while today’s children are spending much of theirs in the company of their teachers. Although the good thing is children of today are taught at a very early age the value of social mingling with others, the time they should spend with their families are shortened.

In my elementary days, I could not remember my teacher raising her voice to its highest level when she wanted to call our attention. Even I myself was not used to being scolded. I had regarded my teacher as an authority to respect and to obey and until now I have that discipline in me.

Today’s situation was quite different. Just recently, I visited my nephew in his class to check from his teacher his performance in school as well as pay for some of his class dues. I was asked to do that because his mother at that time was not available due to work. As I peeked into the room, I was surprised to see the teacher with her frowned forehead and on top of her voice yelling to the children to get their attention. The room was at some kind in social chaos. Though shocked, I was amused to see the situation.

On class breaks especially lunch breaks, together with my classmates we would ran to the school gym and play all sorts of ‘larong pinoy’ that we could think of. Today, even if it’s not break time, groups of children would cut off classes and you would later find them in Internet cafes playing video games or sometimes they would escape from their classes and go swimming on nearby resorts.

At home, when I got scolded for wrong doings, I dared not to look into my parents straight in the eyes because if I do that, it would mean that I no longer respect them and I am fighting back. Instead, I kept my head low absorbing all the sermons. Because I was just a kid, there came many times when what goes in the left ear goes out of the right. But never did I again spoke back to them in rough tone. I did it once or twice and I ended up massaging my ached lips.

The kids now are different. Although I am saying not all, there are kids who have bigger mouth than their parents. Some new generation parents are letting their kids boldly answer them back while they are disciplining them. Other kids are turning their backs on their parents even though the parents are not yet through with their talking. I had asked one mother why she is letting her kid do that, she told me she could not control his son but she doesn't want to punish him by beating or whipping him either.

But anyways, everything has really changed and is still changing. Some changes for the betterment and some for bad and even the worst. Maybe, it is because of the fast-pacing world we are living in or due to the swiftly evolving technologically-influenced environment. In any case, parents must be ready to defend their kids against bad influences even it means using an iron hand to keep them in good discipline. All in all, approaches should be done positively.
